As all interesting lives twist and wind around happenings and circumstances, mine has taken a round-about, curious dog-leg into the world of domestic violence awareness advocacy.  As I made my journey and the doors opened, I gladly stepped through them to each new adventure, my eyes focused on one thing…to give a voice to victims.  I painfully remember how frustrating and terrifying it is to be ashamed and silent about what was happening in my own home.

Look over my upcoming events below and join me if you can! (Note: some events are private and not open to the public.)

  • Saturday, April 27, 1:00 – I will be at the Turfside Indoor Sports Complex in Windber for the Cornhole Competition.  The event benefits the Women’s Help Center and I will be speaking at 1:00.  Gather up a team, register and come join us.  It’ll be fun!
  • Tuesday, May, 9:30-11:30 – When Domestic Violence Comes to Work – I will be conducting a DV Awareness in the Workplace Training. Red Cross Building, Johnstown (Closed Group)
  • Thursday, August 8, 6:00 – I will be at the Boulevard Grill in Johnstown, joining a group of ladies in a book club to talk about domestic violence and the joys (or not) of the process of publishing. (Closed Group)

If you are looking for someone to speak at your next event, please contact me.  You’ll see from my past events that I’ve spoken at a variety of venues.  Perhaps I could be of some help at your next event?
